Brousses-et-Villaret in the Montagne Noire
Brousses et Villaret is a little quiet village closer of Carcassonne than Rennes les Bains. Beautiful forests for fresh walks in summer, lakes but also Cathars Castles to discover.
We rent a self-catering accommodation accredited « Gîtes de France” which has been accorded 2 "épis" to indicate its standard of comfort. The house can accommodate up to 6 people and provides:
- on the ground floor: open-plan kitchen, dining, sitting room, veranda, bedroom with double bed (140cm), shower, wc
- on the first large mezzanine (20m2) with a king size bed (160cm) and two single beds (90cm)
The veranda opens onto the terrace and the garden, summer-house barbecue, private parking space (for one car).
Towels and bed-linen and provided and the beds made before your arrival.
You can organize numerous excursions and visits from Brousses itself: the Paper Mill in Brousses, the medieval city Carcassonne, the Cathar castles of Lastours and Saissac, excursions on foot or on mountain bike in the surrounding forests, swimming in the lakes, visit of the Royal Manufactory in Montolieu, the village famous for its bookshops.
TARIFS 2019 per week (usually from Saturday afternoon to Saturday morning): 350€ - 500€ seasonal.

A Word About Our Cuisine
Table d’hôtes is such a convivial affair compared to a hotel or restaurant meal. Everyone meets round the table for a great social evening, including your French hosts Laurence and Erick. Everything is homemade, locally sourced and from a base of high-quality French products, organic as much as possible .
You’ll get to try some of our local specialities from the South of France such as magret de canard (duck breast) and the fine sparkling wine Blanquette de Limoux, which inspired Champagne. Our vegetables are varied and fresh from our own garden whenever possible. On fine summer evenings, we can sometimes offer a barbecue.

RENNES LES BAINS - RENNES LE CHÂTEAU
Rennes-les-Bains and Rennes-le-Château are only a couple of miles apart, which leads to the occasional muddle, but actually they're two distinctively different places.
Rennes-les-Bains is proud of the therapeutic qualities of its natural hot springs. Medically-speaking, they’re used to treat rheumatic and skin complaints, but you can also go along for a bit of pampering and TLC, or just for fun. The village also offers a programme of sports, festivals, walks, music and other entertainments.
Rennes-le-château is famous for its treasure mystery and links with Knights Templars and the Holy Grail, some which formed the basis of the bestselling Da Vinci Code. Since then, there have been two more bestsellers Labyrinth and Sepulchre by Kate Mosse, the first of which has recently been filmed. There are dozens more books about these mysteries, including one by Rat Scabies, drummer with The Damned, and a mass of further information on the internet.
